Reference

The project failed in a way that was entirely my fault. I had been so confident in the plan that I skipped the boring step of checking it with the people who would use it. When we finally showed them, it was obvious within minutes that we had built the wrong thing. It was an uncomfortable meeting, but it taught me something no success ever had: ask early, and ask the people who will have to live with the result.
