How to organise Part 3 opinions

Move from position to reason, example and qualification.

Practise nowA2-B2Practical advice · try it aloud

Original practice material · Draft: editorial review pending

Try it step by step

  • Choose a clear position, allowing for exceptions.
  • Explain one cause or consequence rather than listing many unsupported points.
  • Use an example, then mention a condition that could change your view.

Example to adapt

  • Public transport can reduce traffic if it is reliable. For instance, a frequent bus may persuade commuters to leave their cars at home.

Self-check

  • Did I answer the actual question?
  • Did I include a reason, detail or example where appropriate?
  • What one thing will I try differently next time?
