Build your answer
- Politely ask for clarification
- Answer the clarified question
- Check whether more detail is needed
Sentence starter
- Could you clarify whether you mean…?
Common pitfall
- Do not pretend to understand a question you have not understood.
Illustrative example
- What would you change about our process?
- Do you mean the booking process? I would make the confirmation clearer. Does that address the part you wanted me to consider?
- Use the structure with your own details; do not memorise this answer.
