Reference

I used to think ambition meant wanting a bigger title, a louder role, a place further up some ladder. These days my ambition is quieter and, I think, harder to reach: to be good at something specific, to be reliable, and to leave the things I touch a little better organised than I found them. It does not make for an impressive speech, but it is easier to live with.
