Tell the story of your first day in a new place — a job, a city, a school.
Direct someone from your home to the nearest shop. Use: go straight on, turn left/right, take the second exit, it's opposite, next to, on your right.
Describe a meal out from arriving to paying. Use: a table for two, the specials, medium rare, on the side, the bill, service charge, split it.
Talk about how you shop. Use: on sale, a bargain, refund, receipt, afford, expensive, cheap, worth it.
Describe a journey across your city. Use: platform, rush hour, delay, transfer, fare, on foot, get off, miss (the train).
Talk about a trip. Use: off the beaten track, a stopover, jet lag, breathtaking, touristy, a local, get by (in a language), settle in.
Tell a travel disaster story. Use: get stranded, a mix-up, overbooked, a connecting flight, lost luggage, a language barrier, sort it out.
