Don't Say It — 1-2 min English speaking game
About Don't Say It
Don't Say It is a taboo-style English speaking game. You get a word - “airport” - and three banned words - “plane”, “flight”, “travel”. You have to make the word clear without any of them. Pick Easy for common objects, or Hard for abstract ideas like “compromise” that need real circumlocution.
How to play
- Choose Easy, Medium or Hard, then choose Start speaking or Type instead - the timer starts when your microphone is ready or typing begins.
- Explain the word out loud as if the listener must guess it.
- Do not say the word itself or any of the three banned words - the sidebar tracks them.
- No microphone? Use Type instead and write the explanation.
How your speaking is checked
Your snapshot counts responses and words or list entries. Review your answers against the prompt yourself; these counts do not assess pronunciation, fluency, or English level. Speakflew does not send game transcripts or recordings to its server. Your browser's speech service may process microphone audio remotely.
Who it's for
Easy suits A2 learners describing everyday objects. Medium and Hard (B1-C1) push into abstract ideas, the moment in a real conversation when the exact word won't come.
